Our Services
Installation and Certifications
The Building Code of Australia (BCA) requires that only tested and approved Passive Fire Protection systems be installed.
Passive First’s quality program ensures only those approved systems to the correct standards and elements are be used. Our inspections not only identify these areas, we also correct and recommend products that are fully approved. Passive First certification in installation and inspections carry the upmost quality and we pride ourselves on our professionalism and service to our clients.

Passive First can provide Annual Statements of Maintenance Compliance to support your Annual Fire Safety Statements in the following fields:
• Fire Seals protecting openings in fire resisting components of the buildings
• Fire Dampers
• Lightweight Construction (fire and smoke)
• Access Panels and hoppers to fire resisting shafts
• Fire Windows
• Fire Doors
• Smoke Dampers and Smoke Doors
With over 18 years experience, in the Passive Fire industry, we understand the importance of asset management by providing comprehensive inspection reports. These reports are complete with photos, drawings, service schedules and in a format that is easy to follow.
Passive First provides annual maintenance inspections for various fire safety measures including fire dampers, service penetration between apartments, floors and plant rooms, lightweight construction, shaft risers and fire doors. Passive First are also experienced in dealing with “Council Fire Safety Orders” guiding you through the various fire safety measures for your building. We seek to provide the best possible outcome to save you time and money.
Our inspection not only includes onsite, hands on testing but we also use micro cameras to inspect those hard to reach areas above set ceilings and behind kitchens and cupboards. This approach saves our clients the costs of installing access panels and the time spent having technicians to re-inspect.
Construction Watch BRIEF
Through site meetings with your subcontractors, foreman and project managers, Passive First can explain key areas of how to install compliant passive fire systems.
Passive First site visits assess the installation of passive fire systems by builders and contractors who are required to install them. These systems include:
• Fire Dampers
• Fire Seals Protecting Openings In Fire Resisting Components Of The Building
• Lightweight Construction
• Access Panels, Doors And Hoppers To Fire Resisting Shafts
During our compliance inspection checks; we provide comprehensive inspection reports outlining any non-compliance installs complete with solutions on how to correct them. We also answer any onsite questions to provide a better understanding about achieving compliance to manufacturer’s data sheet approvals.
This inspection regime can save money and time to both contractor and builder before building fit-outs are installed or prior to project completion.

Passive First was engaged to provide onsite inspections detailing the condition of fire dampers and surrounding services penetrations in 206 apartments as well as all common areas including the basement car park. Passive First conducted extremely professional and detailed inspections and promptly followed up with detailed and professional reports which could be understood by both myself and the Executive Committee Members.  I have no hesitation in recommending their services to anyone requiring them.

Brent McFadden

Building manager - The Darlington

When our strata became aware of a requirement to furnish council and the Fire Commissioner with Annual Fire Safety Certification and we engaged Passive First … Passive First undertook the extensive repairs on a staged program over four years . With mutual pre-planning, all inspections have been carried out as scheduled. The report/quoting has been professionally detailed with references to Australian standards and/or building codes.  On all occasions a senior manager has been in charge on the job and a genuine concern for the convenience of residents.

Strata Committee Member

I have utilised the services of Passive First for a number of years now, and I would not hesitate to recommend their passive survey and rectification services as they provide cost effective pricing in a highly competitive industry. I have found Aldo, Rod and the team to be professional and the quality of the reporting is very good and is reasonably priced.
